The cover, initial letter, and the tailpiece of this beautiful publication were designed by James Joyce's daughter, Miss Lucia Joyce. The library's copy is number 579 of an edition of 1,000, and was printed in letterpress using Old Antique Dutch font at the presses of G. J. Thieme at Nymegen, Holland. This copy is a gift to the library from Paul Kennerson, in honor of Andreas Brown, owner of the Gotham Book Mart, upon the occasion of the conferral of the Doctorate of Fine Arts degree to Brown.
